Activities with the LIPU in the Nature Reserve Zingaro
The location in the center of the Mediterranean makes the Natural Reserve of Zingaro the ideal place to observe the thousands of birds of different species, which after playing moving to Africa for the winter.
One of the main techniques used to study bird migration is ringing, ie the attachment of metal rings to their legs to be able to find and understand their movements.
After being caught with nets bloodless, the birds are ringed and set free after a careful collection of data on their physiological state.
From 30th October to 1st November 2015 will be able to participate in this event in collaboration with the LIPU.
It will be activated in the Zingaro Nature Reserve a temporary station ringing, under the control of ringers authorized by the National Institute for Wildlife.
The range includes the observation of species migrating and nesting species, with particular attention to the birds of prey.
What to bring
Sleeping bag, mat, binoculars, torch -
raincoats or ponchos - a replacement -
towels or bathrobes light - backpack
and, if the weather permits, swimsuit.

Overnight stay in the houses of Borgo Cusenza (Borgo Cusenza is 2 hours of walking, in the heart of the reserve, there are bathrooms and showers, but there is light)
