Custonaci and its Living Nativity

This Nativity,at  its 36th edition, is made in a prehistoric cave, the Grotta Mangiapane; It is considered today the largest event of exploitation trades and Sicilian folk traditions, inscribed in 2006 in the Register of Intangible Heritage, between 100 intangible assets of the Sicilian Region.

The Nativity of Custonaci is known throughout Italy for the extraordinary suggestiveness of its environment as well as to the composure, the interpretative pathos of the characters and the emotions it can arouse.

Like every year there will be over 160 people involved in its preparation including interpreters, craftsmen-artists, peasant workers, local performers and extras. A

25 - 26 - 29 - 30 Dicembre 2017 

5 - 6 - 7 Gennaio 2018

The ticket office is located in the center of Custonaci (Trapani), Mediterranean City of Christmas.

The cost of the ticket (5,00 Children - Adults 10,00 €) includes a shuttle service from the center to the cave and back, the visit of the nativity scene includes tasting local produce and includes a visit to the Santuario Maria Santissima of Custonaci, a fantastic example of Sicilian Baroque, and Art and Faith Museum.

The new edition of EricéNatale 2017/18 brings back the magical atmosphere of the festivities in the medieval village with the sweet sound of the bagpipes and the colors and the lights of its numerous nativity scenes.
