San Vito Celebration
in June
In June 15th there is a very important event for San Vito Lo Capo, because there is the San Vito Fest dedicated to the patron of the country.
All people participate actively to this religious event, especially the sailors of the town.
For a week there are different activities, games and amusing shows.
In the evening of the 15 of June, at sunset, the boats leave the harbour to go in front of the beach, while a little boat carries on the beach Vito, Modesto e Crescenzia. It is a very exciting moment.
Between lights and songs the procession winds through the streets of the village with hymns and prayers until the Sanctuary in the centre of the town.
The festival marks the beginning of summer, a good occasion to plan your holidays.
