Every year, great chefs come to this beautiful corner of Sicily, from different countries, to live, with the pretext of cooking, a unique experience, comparing with cheerfulness among the stoves, preparing original and tasty cous couses surrounded by a more and more attentive audience.
In a multi-ethnic atmosphere you can taste the peace of the 6 Cous Cous Houses located along the streets of the center or on the beach in a Berber tent or at the WAHA where you will feel the desert dunes.
Ten days rich in events, from morning to afternoon, cultural encounters, cooking shows and talkshow, and in the evenings there is so much music and entertainment on Santuario Square or on the beach with artists of great fame.
The winner of the past edition was Palestine, with the recipe of Chef George Suheil Srour of Ramallah and Elias Bassous of Bethlehem. A really special couscous, with fennel and pomegranate crumble, grilled orate fish and dusting of wild summation that struck the jury with its harmony and balance.
Countries in the XXth edition will be: Italy, Angola, Côte d'Ivoire, France, Israel, Morocco, Palestine, Senegal, United States and Tunisia.

THE RACE AND THE JURY
The cous cous is now indissolubly linked to San Vito Lo Capo, it is no longer a simple recipe but a wonderful binder between different cultures and religions, between wanting to party and desire for a better world.
Chefs from all over the world come into play in an atmosphere of great joy and solidarity.
Two prestigious gastronomic competitions are aimed at professional chefs: the Italian Cous Cous Championship and the Cous Cous World Championship, to award the Best Cous Cous Prize
Two juries vote in the two competitions of the chefs in the race, a technical jury and a popular jury.
You can also join the Jury and taste the dishes prepared by the chefs in the race. Just buy a simple online Ticket. (10€ for the semifinal and 15€ for the Final).
Cous Cous World Championship
The international gourmet race, the heart of the show, is its cheerful and colorful soul.
In the kitchens of San Vito Lo Capo, different languages, cultures and religions are crossed by multiculturalism and food integration.
A race that is a pretext to be together and compare the different traditions in the kitchen.
THE GASTRONOMIC VILLAGE
Choose a different cous cous every day.
All the country during the event becomes a great permanent gastronomic lab.
The most original recipes and ancient flavors blend, giving space to fantasy without ever forgetting the tradition.
In the gastronomic village, there are numerous stands where you can enjoy more than 40 different cous cous recipes, every day, from 12:00 to 24:00 ... choosing will be a problem!
You can not miss the most delicious desserts of Sicilian tradition: cannoli, cascatelle or almond biscuits ... naturally combined with excellent local wines.
However, for those who want to learn how to make cous cous and find out the technique of "incocciare", you will be able to take part in the lessons held in the numerous food labs
Every evening is a free show on the stage at Santuario Square in the heart of San Vito Lo Capo or on the beach.
Throughout the week you can take part in the cooking shows presented by Andy Luotto and Eliana Chiavetta, where you can taste the recipes prepared directly by famous Chefs, in a nice and relaxing atmosphere, listening to their anecdotes and their little secrets.
An unmissable opportunity for those who love good food and culinary culture. It is a real pleasure for those who, having a good glass of Sicilian wine, find themselves sharing their love for cooking.

The TICKET for tasting in the 6 COUS COUS HOUSES consists of two coupons.
The First gives right to a portion of cous cous, chosen from among the menus, and a glass of wine. With the latter, you can have a typical Sicilian dessert. Ticket costs 10 euros, can be purchased from 12.00 to 24.00 at the three ticket offices of the event located in the main streets of the country. CAFE' THE COUS COUS
Talk show at Piazza Sanctuary at 9.30 pm led by Marzia Roncacci. Exceptional journalists and guests meet on the Stage of the Square to talk about food themes and not only ... this year's guests include the journalist Roberto Giacobbo, the writer Ninni Ravazza, the entrepreneur Manfredi Barbera and the chef Claudio Sadler.
